All non-clinical staff not already deployed to other duties should liaise with their line managers and organise to go home. Non-clinical staff will be needed after the cyclone to assist.
Check power points
Please check which devices are connected to essential (red) and UPS (blue) power sockets. Any devices with rechargeable batteries should also be fully charged.
Cyclone update
Mackay HHS’s Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) has been stood up and a Code Green response declared. Executive Director of Operations Paul Welford is Incident Commander and Belinda Berg is the Disaster Management Coordinator.
Clinics and elective surgery
A decision will be made this afternoon as to whether elective surgery and outpatient appointments will resume on Wednesday. Concerns around Category 1 patients are being reviewed by the relevant teams.
Reporting lines
While the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) is stood up the Operations Directors will report to Executive Director of Nursing Julie Rampton. There is no change to medical reporting lines. All other reporting lines remain the same. The Chief Medical Officer will redeploy medical staff to our hospitals if required.
