Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Hospital liaison service
Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander liaison officers are the link between our health services and our community.
They can:
- explain hospital services and procedures to you and your family
- visit you in hospital
- help you and your family talk to health professionals so you can share your goals and how you wish to be treated
- refer you to other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander support services
- tell you about community services and programs.
If you're in Mackay Base, Sarina, Proserpine and Bowen Hospitals, you can ask to see one of our liaison officers.
You can also call 07 4885 5957 or email hospital_liaison_service@health.qld.gov.au if you need support.
