Mackay Hospital and Health Service has secured the service of two senior clinicians from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to lead a review into surgical obstetrics and gynaecology services.
This is an expert and independent review that relates to clinical practice and any other factors relevant to safe and effective patient care.
The health service will today work with the reviewers to establish timeline and processes for this review.
A dedicated phone line staffed by a senior and experienced midwife opened this morning for consumers to provide feedback about the care they have received in the Mackay health service.
This line is open from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
The number is 4885 6244 and calls can be returned after hours by arrangement if that is more convenient.
If anyone has concerns about their care it is important that you contact the health service directly so your concerns can be investigated and addressed.
Any feedback about patient care is taken seriously and every consumer who raises matters with us will receive a response.
Patient safety is of utmost priority and the health service is constantly working to improve the patient experience.
