The Mackay Showgrounds drive-through testing clinic and Bowen, Proserpine and Moranbah hospitals now have Rapid Antigen Tests available for eligible people.
In the past 24 hours a total of 556 PCR tests were done by the health service and 84 home RAT kits were provided.
RATs are offered to:
- People who need a negative test on day six to exit quarantine
- Essential workers who require a negative test to return to work
- Essential workers who cannot wait for a PCR result and need to return to work
RATs are not available for other people whose employers ask them to them to show they are negative.
Mackay HHS has a sufficient number of tests to meet the current demand from eligible people.
If you believe you are eligible for a RAT please call the COVID-19 hotline on 4885 5666 to book your test. When you arrive please tell staff you are here for a RAT.
The next COVID-19 update will issued on Monday 24 January.
