Mackay HHS has 210 new positive COVID-19 cases to make a total of 949 active cases throughout the Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday local government areas.
Of these seven are in the COVID-19 Ward at Mackay Base Hospital, 53 are in Mackay Base Hospital Virtual Ward and there are 19 in Townsville University Hospital‘s Virtual Ward. Other positive cases are isolating.
As of 4 January the breakdown of cases was Isaac 46, Mackay 289 and Whitsunday 316.

A total of 892 COVID-19 tests were done by Mackay HHS on 3 January 2022.
Everyone needs to consider any movement through the community as a risk for COVID-19 infection.
