Bowen Hospital staff launched their Bowen shirt in #NAIDOCWeek2020 celebrating the First Nations people in their area. The shirt was designed by local designer Robbie Paul in consultation with the community elders and Bowen’s Hospital indigenous health worker Charmaine Pangi.
The greeting Wadda Mooli is traditional for welcome and was incorporated in the shirt design along with the turtle, the local totem. The central design by Charmaine includes the tracks which identify the many paths we may take together in the health journey. The blue surrounding the central circle represents the sky and the ocean.
