Whitsunday residents are asked to be patient if visiting the Proserpine Hospital Emergency Department this afternoon as the redevelopment work continues.
Director of Nursing Nicola Young said the Pharmacy Department was moving along with the Emergency Department waiting area and triage area.
Access to the Emergency Department will remain via the main entrance however the waiting and triage area is located near the ward nurses station area.
Speciality Outpatients and Medical Imaging and Ultrasound waiting areas are unaffected.
“Thank you to the community for all your patience during the redevelopment. We are are currently moving into the second last stage of our refurbishment.
“Today is our big move so we ask the community to appreciate the area is quite busy and to see their GP for non-emergencies if possible,” she said.
