Mackay Base Hospital marked NAIDOC Day with a Welcome to Country, Flag Raising Ceremony and a reflection on progress being made towards Closing The Gap in the difference between life expectancy for indigenous and non indigenous Australians.
NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements and is an opportunity to recognise the contributions that Indigenous Australians make.
