Clinical Trials
The Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) provides support to investigators involved in commercially sponsored, externally initiated or collaborative clinical trials within the Mackay HHS to provide early access to cutting-edge therapies for our patients and community. The clinical trials nursing staff support the investigators and have a diverse background of expertise to help support research across many specialties with our HHS.
The Mackay HHS currently conducts clinical trials in the following departments:
- – Vascular
- – Anaesthetics
- – Haematology
- – Paediatrics
- – Oncology
- – Emergency Medicine
- – Renal
- – Infectious Diseases
Some of these trials are offered through visiting services or as teletrials in conjunction with other hospitals, for example Townsville University Hospital. Further details will be provided as more services become available in the future.
