Sarina Hospital Redevelopment
The new Sarina Hospital at 47 Brewers Road, Sarina, is now complete.
The hospital provides care to the Sarina and surrounding communities in an improved layout with enhanced facilities including larger consultation rooms in emergency and outpatients, a purpose-built rehabilitation facility including a larger gym space and new staff accommodation.
The new Sarina Hospital was the first rural hospital in Queensland to be born digital and become part of the digital hospital network.

Greater Whitsundays Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service
Proserpine Hospital’s Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service will relocate to a facility in Chapman Street, Proserpine.
These works are part of a $7 million capital project that includes construction of a renal dialysis unit at Proserpine Hospital where renal haemodialysis services will be provided locally.
Status: Refurbishment underway.
Moranbah Hospital Redevelopment
The new Moranbah Hospital will replace the existing hospital providing enhanced models of care and service delivery.
The hospital is a modular design and part of the Queensland Government’s Building Rural and Remote Health Program.

Mackay Base Hospital Expansion Project
The Mackay Base Hospital Expansion Project will deliver an additional 128 beds, new birth suites and women’s and children’s health units, to help relieve hospital pressures and improve patient care for the region.
The expansion project will deliver a new wing off the existing hospital building, multi-storey car park and helipad. Health services included in the build will be our Women’s Health Unit with new birthing suites and maternity ward, Special Care Nursery, Child and Adolescent Unit and medical wards.
