The Mackay Base Hospital provides both elective (planned) and emergency care to patients requiring a surgical procedure.
Depending on the type of surgery, the patient’s health and other factors, the hospital offers inpatient care with overnight stay and outpatient treatment with same day discharge.
Elective surgical care usually starts with an outpatient clinic appointment, following a referral from your General Practitioner (GP).
